Well we had a great lightning show late last night then we got the rain. It rained quite heavy most of the night and then most of the day we had showers. It was also quite cold (19 degrees). We spent most of the day around the van and down at the shops.
We have had to fix a few things whilst we have been here, first of all we had to have the windscreen replaced. We had a chip in it that we got last year and it started to travel along the windscreen so we decided we had better get it fixed. Then we had to replace the door locking system on the caravan. Last night the handle on the outside broke off completely. We had a job getting the door open but fortunately managed to do so otherwise we would have been sleeping under the stars as the car keys were also in the van. Anyway Graham was able to buy a new lock set and Noel helped him to put it on. We were so pleased that we were in a decent sized town and not in one of the small country towns that we have been going through, otherwise I don't think we would have got one quite so easy. As much as we have never heard of this happening to anybody else it does make one wonder why that particular part was so easy to get.
Because of the rain we have decided to stay in Mount Isa for another couple of nights as from here we are going through to Gregory Downs and hopefully Lawn Hill and the road between these two places is a bit wet at the moment. We rang Lawn Hill and they thought it would dry out it the next few days.
