Day 23 & 24 May 6 - 7 2012 - Neil Turner Weir - Mitchell

Drove through some very boring scenery from St George to Mitchell, also some very ordinary roads.  The roads are all very damaged with the floods and as much as there are lots of areas where there are road works going on there are  lots that still need attention.  One particular part we came on a hole in the road and it was too late to put on the brakes so we literally bounced over it.  We had to pull over the side of the road to check the inside of the van - fortunately everything was okay.

Further down the road we had to stop whilst the cattle passed us. It was quite a sight.

We arrived here at the Neil Turner Weir about lunchtime yesterday.  It is a free camp and there are about 20 vans in here.  We have had a fire both nights, even though the days have been really warm the nights get quite  cold.  I am actually sat outside by the fire at the moment typing this.  We cooked our dinner (lamb chops, veg etc) on the fire - it was yummy.  Tomorrow we are going for a drive around the town, apparently there is not much to see but we will see for ourselves.
