Saturday - we
were given a different site on the caravan park. The first one we had was very small and when
we opened the caravan door we looked out onto a washing line. The one we have been given is about 50 yards
off the beach. Instead of looking out
onto a washing line we look out onto the ocean, it is really great. We didn’t do much else today once we had
moved except read our books and relax.

Sunday - we went
to the craft market at Smithfield shopping centre. It was not as good as the last time we went
in 2009 with Sharon. When we got back to
Palm Cove we spent a couple of hours on the beach. It was a bit windy but still quite warm. Overnight we are having problems with Curlews
(birds) the noise they make is deafening, it sounds like somebody is strangling
them.
Monday - we had
a drive out to Port Douglas, which is about 30 km from here. It was a lot busier than we remember and
there seemed to be a lot more shops. We
went to the lookout, I think every person that has ever been to Port Douglas
has had their photograph taken up there.
From Port Douglas we drove to Newell Beach, we were going to go there
after Cairns but they are booked out so we will have to change our plans. There wasn’t much at Newell Beach and the
caravan park was very small. Bit windy
today at Palm Cove.

Tuesday - we
woke up to a very windy morning. It was
also very cloudy but still no rain. It
took until about 11-30am for the sun to come out but it was still very windy
(coming straight of the water) and it remained windy all day. We didn’t do much except read our books. We did go for a walk around a new development here in Palm Cove, we were surprised that the blocks were so small and also that they did not have much of a view. After dinner we went for a walk along the front and bought an ice cream.
We have really enjoyed our time here in Palm Cove. It is a really relaxing place even though there is miles of accommodation and resorts, there are lots of nice places to eat out and most places have outside eating areas. Tonight because of the wind they had the cafe blinds down. Tomorrow we are going back to Cairns where we are meeting up with Betty and David from Perth (we met them last year in Mildura). Then who knows we may come back to Palm Cove.
