Day 150 September 10 - Agnes Waters

Slow start to the morning today, we thought we had better start looking at where we want to stay on the way down and maybe book a few places as the school holidays start on the 19th September and of course that means that a lot of places will be booked out.  Anyway we have booked in at Bargara which is near Bundaberg for a couple of nights and we have also booked in at Brisbane later in the month when we will also be going to see the Outback Spectacular but that is as far as we have got.  We don't really like booking too far ahead in case we want to stay longer at a particular place.

Today we had a look at the Town of Seventeen Seventy, which is about 6 km from Agnes Waters.  Seventeen Seventy is the town where Captain Cook made his second landing on May 24, 1770.  We had a walk along the beach where we met a lady and her son from Blairgowrie, what a small world.  Then we had a drive around and had a look at some of the houses that are built on the hillside.  On the way back to the van we did a few detours and had a look at a couple of the holiday resorts that are between Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Waters.  We tried to book another night here but they are fully booked so tomorrow we move onto Bargara  (near Bundaberg)  which we have been told is very nice.  It has been a bit overcast today but it was still warm.
